PicFrame Manager is the companion app for PicFrame digital photo frames. Use it to add photos from your iPhone, organize them into albums, choose what the frame shows, and keep an eye on the frame from anywhere. Need help? Email picframe@txphipps.com.
What you need
- A PicFrame photo frame, set up and connected to WiFi
- An iPhone running iOS 16.2 or later
- Access to the frame's dashboard (on your home WiFi) to get a pairing code
Getting started: pair your frame
- On a computer or tablet on the same WiFi as the frame, open the frame's dashboard and go to Settings → Mobile App Pairing → Show. It shows the Frame URL, a pairing code and a QR code.
- In PicFrame Manager, tap Pair a Frame.
- Scan the QR code, or type the Frame URL (it looks like
https://yourframe.ts.net) and the pairing code. - When pairing finishes, the frame appears on the main screen. Use the Frame URL, not a home IP address, if you want the app to work when you are away from home.
Pairing codes expire after 5 minutes and allow 3 tries. If a code stops working, show a new one on the dashboard.
Everyday tasks
- Add photos: tap Upload Photos, choose the album, pick photos. Photos already in that album are skipped automatically.
- Change what the frame shows: open Albums, tap an album, then Show on Frame.
- Get new photos onto the frame now: in the album that is showing, tap Sync Now. Otherwise the frame checks for new photos on its own schedule.
- Let family add photos: open an album and tap Share Upload Link to send a link anyone can use to add photos from a web browser.
- Check on the frame: tap Frames to see its status, storage, paired phones and settings.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Pairing code is rejected | Codes expire after 5 minutes and allow 3 tries. Show a new code on the dashboard. If you have asked for several codes in the last hour, wait a while and try again. |
| "Needs re-pair" message | The frame no longer recognizes this phone (for example, it was removed from the frame). Tap Re-pair and enter a new pairing code. |
| Frame shows as offline | Check the frame is powered on and on WiFi. Away from home, the frame must have been paired with its Frame URL (https://…), not a home IP address. |
| Uploaded photos aren't on the frame | The frame downloads new photos on a schedule. Tap Sync Now on the album that is showing. Photos added to an album that isn't showing appear when you choose Show on Frame for it. |
| Frame screen says "No WiFi" | The frame reconnects by itself once WiFi is back (it checks about every 15 minutes). If the WiFi name or password changed, follow the instructions on the frame's screen. |
| Uploads are slow or time out | Large photos take longer on slow connections. Try again on WiFi, or upload fewer photos at a time. |
